Well. It's been almost a year since I last visited these hallowed pages. There was a time when I could barely go a day without checking in on the comings and goings of Livejournal... Whatever happened? We move on. We forget.
Since August last, life has moved on again... I've moved to a new flat with a new friend, have been in a wonderful relationship with an even more wonderful boy for the last nine months, am nearing the end of my second year of Uni and other such life things. Inconsequential. Essential. Evolution.
When I started this blog... 5 years ago? 6? I was 18, I'd just enrolled on a University course I had no interest in. My outlook on life has changed utterly since then. I've had various jobs, boyfriends, dramas, adventures, highs and lows since then and I love that throughout it all I felt the urge to write it all down. Now I have this journal to come back to and reflect upon.
One day I hope to print it all out and have a hard copy of what has essentially been the longest running diary I've managed to keep going as there's something dangerously intangible and imperminant about the internet. One day, this might not be here anymore.

Ganked from anglepoiselamp, who fairy-fied Grissom for me. Here's how it works... I pick one of your icons and put it in a fancy dress outfit for Halloween (i.e. use Paint to put it in a dinky little costume.) XD If you're interested, leave a comment below, and I'll reply with your dressed-up icon.

Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random. Step 2: Post the first line(s) from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song. Step 3: Let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from. Step 4: Bold out the songs when someone guesses correctly. ( Give it a go if you think you're hard enough. AND NO GOOGLING. )

I just found a folder of "work" from my first year of Primary School. I've taken the liberty of typing some of it up for the amusement of others... ( I only know a littel bit of majic )

Dear LJ,
As you may be aware, I went over to the dark side and embraced an actual real life diary about six months ago (eventually I ran out of paper).
Having filled aforementioned diary with doodles, rants, poetry and other such ridiculousness, I found starting a new one difficult. My momentum had been slaughtered by the arrival of the back page. I bought a replacement, but my heart just wasn't in it. Paper had had it's moment.
Now diary-less I turned towards the new kids on the block- Twitter and Facebook. So shiny, so compact! Instant update reports! What am I doing? Thinking? Listening to? Watching? FEELING? Who needs a blog. Phff.
So, some of the nuances of my days were going uncatalogued in the haze of this new style compressed information stream. Lost to the sands of time... No-one would ever know the amusing details of the instance with the crazy old man on the bus, merely that there had been a crazy instance (thankyou Twitter)!
I feel I've been sucked into clipped, souless updating (40 character limit?? MY ARSE!) that surely only bloated self indulgent waffle like this can balance out. It is the way of the universe!!
Alternatively, I could free myself from this compulsive need to document pointlessness in an unprecidented display of revolutionary liberation.
(I wont).
